**Housekeeper**
**Location: Harborne, Birmingham**
**Salary: £12.21**
**Casual Contract - Monday - Friday, between 3.15pm - 6.30pm, as and when required**
**Start Date: ASAP**

**Purpose of Role**
The purpose of the Housekeeper role is to assist the upkeep of the centre in ensuring the day to day cleaning standards of Focus Birmingham are met.
**Service Delivery**
- Carry out cleaning duties as directed by the In-house services supervisor to the required Focus standards
- Cleaning duties can be in any area of the organization
- Ensure that daily and deep cleaning schedules are adhered to
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe condition
- Report any defect to the In-house supervisor
- Carry out any other reasonable instructions of the In-house supervisor
- To be sensitive to the privacy and needs of the Service Users.
- To comply with COSHH regulations
- To adhere to infection control policies at all times
- To ensure the correct use of PPE
- To follow the correct use of colour code systems within the organisation
- To ensure all necessary documentation is completed daily
- To ensure trolleys are re-stocked at the end of shift and cleaning cupboards are left clean and tidy
- To provide a catering service in a timely manner and in accordance with service user’s needs
- To maintain and clean all crockery, cutlery and equipment as specified in the daily cleaning tasks as designated by the manager using the dish washing machine.
- Cleaning down the immediate area on completion of each task and ensure that kitchen area is cleaned and always maintained in accordance with Health & Safety standards
- To report and mechanical or safety defects to the in-house services supervisor
- To ensure that daily, weekly and monthly checks are actioned in a timely manner and communicated via documentation to the in-house services supervisor
**Maintenance of cleaning materials and equipment**
- Ensure cleaning materials levels are maintained and any orders passed to Housekeeper
- Ensure all cleaning products are used correctly
- To ensure team uniform is clean and worn for every shift to company standards
**Health and Safety**
- Ensure and support the health and safety guidelines in place i.e. infection control policies and procedures and report any breaches to in-house services supervisor
- Record information relating to H&S for audit purposes.
- Report any maintenance issues to the in-house services supervisor on a daily basis.
- Ensure reportable incidents/accidents are reported to the in-house services supervisor
- Ensure timely delivery of cleaning and checks and ensure they are maintained daily, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidance.
- Comply COSHH regulations ensuring data sheets are updated for any cleaning material used.
- Work within the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- Adhere to all policies, procedures and training including COVID-19 protocols in place and mandatory Focus training.
- Learn and understand the principles and practice of the fire procedure e.g. drills evacuation plan.
- Undertake any training prior to commencement of role i.e. manual handling, safeguarding of adults, infection control.
**Additional Requirements**
Flexibility to work different shifts at short notice if required.
**Person Specification**
- Good standard of education including competency in English and Mathematics
- Experience of and general understanding of Health and Safety processes and procedures and legislation including COSHH
- Able to work accurately in a clear and precise way to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to providing a responsive service in line with the departmental and Charity-wide objectives
- Ability to work proactively as a member of a team, to work supportively and effectively with colleagues.
- Takes a proactive approach to meeting the needs to customers
- Knows who their customers are
- Knowledge of on-line learning
- Willingness to work outside of normal working hours to cover in shifts in the event of absence
- Clear DBS and minimum of 2 work references.
- Must be able to attend mandatory training session and meetings outside of shift hours where necessary
- To assist with any other duties as required by the Facilities Manager not already included in this job description
