Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven Regional Transport Partnerships, established by the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005. As well as running the iconic Glasgow Subway, SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, delivers projects directly and in partnership with others, and is responsible for preparation of the statutory Regional Transport Strategy for the west of Scotland.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Transport Planner to join our busy Policy & Planning team where we take the lead on many activities for SPT in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. This includes Regional Transport Strategy, Capital Programme development. Project and Policy development; Community Planning, Equality and Environmental issues (including Climate change adaptation and carbon management).

**About the Role**

The Principal Transport Planner will take the lead on and manage the work of the Strategy and Project Development team, which includes Regional Transport Strategy development, (including RTS Delivery Plan, sub-strategies, project development); Capital Programme development and related project development; Clyde Metro project development; STPR2 project development; and Active travel projects and initiatives. You will also support the Head of Policy and Planning, including representing the work of the department and SPT to internal and external stakeholders.
