York Valkyrie are currently seeking to recruit a passionate and decidated assistant coach to support the further development of our women’s team. The successful applicant will be expected to support delivery of the technical and tactical programme for the women’s first team, with a focus on enhancing the individual development of players.The main objective of this role is to assist on the planning, delivery and review of the coaching programme as per the York Valkyrie philosophy, as well as being strong in practical delivery and positive communication with both players and staff. It is not essential, but experience in delivering strength and conditioning would be advantageous. **Position Type**:One year contract**Location**: Mainly York St John Sports Park, but may vary**Closing Date**:Friday 8 November 2024

**Your key responsibilities**
- The planning & delivery of high quality coaching sessions which promote skill development, understanding and strong work ethic
- Foster a positive and supportive team environment, encouraging challenge and enjoyment of the game
- Session and game analysis, providing constructive feedback and support
- Commitment to improving individual player performance and understanding
- Being a motivational team player and willingness to form positive relationships with players and fellow back room staff

**Experience & Qualifications**:

- Level 2 Rugby League Qualification
- Level 3 Rugby League Qualification (or willingness to work towards)
- Experience playing or coaching at a high level

**Competencies**:

- Team first mentality always.
- Available to work a minimum of two evenings a week (from 5pm onwards) and game days.
- Ability to build & maintain positive relationships and motivate.
- High standards. Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reflective, adaptable and forward thinking.
- Focused on individual player development.
- Knowledge and experience of working with analysis software.
- An understanding of strength and conditioning in rugby league.
