**The Role**: Group Data Protection Manager
PIB Group are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Data Protection Manager to lead our data protection team. You will be responsible for developing, refining and improving the Group's data protection processes and team, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulation, and guidance.
**Responsibilities**:
- Enable the Group to comply with its data protection/privacy obligations.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the data protection team and improve their roles.
- Oversee the workload of the data protection team.
- Maintain and improve the Group's data map, risk register, and record of processing activities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
- Provide advice and support for project teams to ensure privacy by design considerations.
- Draft, amend and approve data protection clauses in Group inbound and outbound contracts.
- Monitor and ensure compliance and suitability of the Group's Data Processors and Controllers.
- Contribute to the information security and data protection impact assessment process and ensure assessments are accurate, monitored, and carried out in a timely manner.
- Continually evaluate the existing data protection framework and identify areas of non or partial compliance and rectify issues.
- Monitor and devise training plans and provide data protection advice and support for members of staff.
- Promote a culture of data protection compliance across all parts of the Group.
- Own, monitor and manage the DSAR procedure and process within the Group.
- Own, monitor, and manage the Data Protection breach procedure and process within the Group.
- Provide monthly reporting to the Board and Steering Groups.
- Be an escalation resource for UK and International data protection matters.
**Experience**:
- Previous experience in a similar data protection management role.
- Strong understanding of data protection laws, regulations, and guidance, including GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
- Experience in managing a team and improving their roles.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across the Group and with external stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to evaluate and rectify non-compliance issues.
- Excellent training and coaching skills.
- Experience in reporting to Board and Steering Groups.
