**Position**:
Freight Transfer Supervisor PM Shift

McCarthy Distribution Ltd is an established warehouse, logistics and distribution solution business serving clients across the UK. We are looking to recruit a Freight Transfer Supervisor to join our Transport Department, based in Wrexham.

**Job Role**:
Purpose: The Freight Transfer Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the unloading of palletised customer freight from our collection vehicles and loading it onto our overnight trunk trailers. Deciding and co-ordinating the best routing of freight to the most suitable of our pallet networks. This will include maximising the trailer fill to the capacity available for designated routes.

Key Tasks will also include (non-exhaustive):

- Monitoring and downloading customer deliveries into transport system and efficiently maximizing the trunk fill capacity to the designated network.
- Ensuring freight is in the correct condition, accurately labelled, loaded and sent via the correct network / delivery partner.
- Overseeing the safe forklift truck (FLT) loading process, the securing of freight and meeting trunk departure times.
- Supervising the trailer loading process with the FLT drivers, to ensure trunks are loaded safely and in priority order.
- Co-ordinating and supervising the loading of groupage and general haulage deliveries.
- Scan outbound freight
- End of day checks including initial warehouse check and general tidiness of warehouse, and checks of packs returned by drivers to enable efficient handover for AM staff
- Run and action reports from IT / Web based systems
- Able to operate a Forklift Truck as required, due to absence/holidays etc

The new appointee will be a team player that thrives within a busy working environment and will be able to operate systematically, flexibly, and effectively to meet customer expectations.

**Working Hours**:
Monday to Friday 14.00pm - 22.00pm.

**Salary**:
£28,000 p.a. (plus company benefits programme)
