Working in our brand new Community & Activity Village in Newark, we are looking for more Cleaners to join our team working on a casual basis on to cover holidays, sickness and busy times. Working on a zero-hour contract, you will work with us on a flexible basis, working shifts that suit your availability.

This is a really broad role covering all aspects of the Village which comprises a Nursery, Café and Conferencing suite, Strength & Conditioning Studio, Dance and Music Studios as well as office space.

No day will be the same and you will get to work in brand new, modern facilities where your natural high standard of cleaning will ensure our building remains as clean (or cleaner) than the day it is handed over to us by the Builders.

When working, you will:

- Professionally clean the dedicated areas of the building assignedto you
- Complete the schedule of work ensuring colour coding practices are adhered to
- Complete a deep clean programme as and when called upon
- Support with ad hoc cleaning tasks as events occur in the village such as spills, bodily fluids etc.

Working as a frontline member of our team, you will be working in the Village alongside our visitors, guests and other members of YMCA staff. You will be a friendly and approachable member of the team, happy to help in anyway you can.

Every day, you will follow the safe use and practises of all cleaning machinery, equipment, adhering to Health & Fire Safety practices with specific attention to:

- COSHH
- Infection Control
- SHARPS & Bodily Fluid Equipment

We will provide you with all the equipment and cleaning items required. Along with the rest of the Domestic team, you will maintain a central cleaning stock, ensuring items are ordered in plenty of time to avoid any issues.

Due to the nature of the zero-hours contract, we are unable to give any commitment to the number of hours per week but we would be able offer shifts to cover week-days and weekends. We would share the available shifts for you to choose which, if any, are suitable for you on a rota basis so you are able to plan the shifts you choose to work. Shifts may also be available at short notice and we would appreciate your flexibility on these too.

About You

We are looking for someone with naturally high standard of cleanliness who enjoys cleaning and loves being busy. You will enjoy working as part of a team, dividing up all the jobs to be completed that day but able to work to your own too.

As a founding member of this brand new team, you will be able to help shape and develop the processes and procedures of the team as well as instigate any new ideas you feel would be beneficial to the Village.

We are open to your background as long as you have some experience in cleaning, either in a domestic or commercial setting. Most important to us is your passion and commitment to join our team.
