***is currently looking to recruit
**an Environmental Consultant (Entry Level)** to work on on a diverse range of highways infrastructure projects across the UK.
Your role will work closely with other Environmental Design Advisors to provide environmental input which ensures compliance and drives sustainability. You will receive the guidance needed to deliver important technical work, such as Carbon & Biodiversity Net Gain calculations, and use specialist tools like GIS to efficiently embed environmental and sustainability assessment procedures and help ensure the best possible outcomes across an interesting portfolio of projects. You will have the opportunity to engage and consult across a wide range of audiences. The support you provide will facilitate the growth and development of our Environmental Technical Team by supporting specialist environmental and sustainability consultancy services across Milestone Infrastructure, M Group Services, and other third-party clients.
**As a Environment Consultant** **your duties & responsibilities will be**:
- Undertaking desktop assessments and visiting sites to identify environmental constraints and opportunities
- Preparing technical memos, reports and other suitable documentation to clearly communicate findings, analysis, and recommendations
- Working with other environmental specialists to provide advice which helps to ensure compliance and deliver more sustainable outcomes
- Supporting engagement with contract teams across a range of communication forums to increase awareness of environmental design requirements, highlight lessons learnt, and promote successful sustainability initiatives
- Identifying opportunities for improvement by undertaking Carbon, Biodiversity Net Gain, and other sustainability assessments
- Facilitating implementation of environmental improvements and enhancements
- Liaising with statutory regulators, consultees, and stakeholders in relation to environmental constraints and opportunities
- Utilising and developing digital tools such as GIS to improve the efficiency of current environmental design procedures and enhance technical team capabilities
***Skills & Knowledge Requirements**
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated approach, with a strong willingness to learn and develop
- Comfortable working independently and using initiative to solve problems
- Confidence to engage with a variety of internal and external teams and stakeholders and escalate issues when necessary
- Working knowledge of GIS software
- Ability to process and analyse large datasets in an organised and efficient manner
- Passionate about achieving sustainable outcomes and improving environmental performance in a challenging and fast-paced industry
- Ability to maintain a ‘can do’ attitude and manage conflicting priorities
- Strong interpersonal and team working skills with the capability to recognise and adapt to constraints faced by other individuals/functions
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work from Milestone offices across the UK when required
