**Job description**

We are currently recruiting for a full time position.

**Main duties**:
1. Acknowledge and welcome all guests with a smile and greeting. Excellent customer service is the most important part of this role and should be delivered at all times.

2. Create a positive environment for our teams to work in.

3. Ensure the restaurant and all public areas are clean and tidy at all times. Tables cleared and wiped down. Bar area kept spotless and empties cleared. It is everyone’s responsibility to keep areas well presented throughout shifts.

4. Prepare condiments, polish cutlery and ensure table settings are correct.

5. Turn tables around to maximise the amount of covers - try to never turn a customer away. Utilise outside space, weather permitting, to maximise sales (“We are fully booked but we do have some tables outside, or we could book you in for a later time” “Once inside and outside is full - would you like us to call our sister pub/Courtyard to see if they have any tables?”)

6. Help develop a culture that tries to help the customer and keep the trade within Elveden.

7. Take personal responsibility for Health and Safety and follow our procedures to keep everyone safe and well.

8. Ensure all orders, transactions and tips are correctly entered through the till system.

9. Minimise stock loss by ensuring full compliance with all company procedures and take effective action to reduce loss and write offs.

10. Ensure compliance with all our policies and procedures (including but not limited to compliments, complaints, refunds, till issues, customer queries, allergens and tips).

11. Help customers with bookings, telephone calls, room bookings, cold and hot beverages, knowing our menu and answering questions, serving food, and assisting on any section, with support and training.

12. Seeking help and advice to help maintain and improve standards.

13. Work well with the Kitchen and Housekeeping to ensure the Pub as a whole delivers good service to the customer, and builds the profitability of the business long term. We work together as one team.

14. Work extra hours at busy times where possible.

15. Solving of day today problems as they arise and carrying out any other duties commensurate with the role or as requested by the manager.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
