**About this job**:
Based in the Culture and Heritage team and part of the broader Inclusive Growth Directorate, the purpose of this role is to support the delivery and development of a vibrant culture and heritage programme led by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. This role will be lined managed by the Senior Curator for Culture Programming and work across the Culture and Heritage Service to achieve its strategic aims in line with corporate policies at a time in which a vibrant and engaged cultural landscape is evolving in the borough, particularly through the establishment of key partnerships and increased investment in cultural infrastructure on the ground. This role will be based at the Women’s Museum working alongside the Curator for New Town Culture as well as working with colleagues in the Culture and Heritage Service located at sites throughout Barking and Dagenham. Like all roles within the Service, the focus of the Culture and Heritage Coordinator is to support collaboration and partnership building, with ongoing projects involving both local and national partners such as Creative Barking and Dagenham, UCL Pearl, National Trust, Arts Council England, Tate Galleries, Studio 3 Arts and The White House.

**Special requirements for this post**:
Specific Accountabilities of the Role: - To coordinate delivery of the emerging culture and heritage programmes working across the council and with Culture and Heritage colleagues. The Culture and Heritage Coordinator will support collaborative initiatives with partners, funders, artists, architects, consultants and residents; coordinating practical aspects of delivery and working groups for a range of projects; ensuring the programme meets its output targets; being the main point of contact for the programme internally and externally. - To support development of new and existing projects to expand the Culture and Heritage programme working closely with Culture and Heritage management colleagues and others to identify strategic partnerships/opportunities for wider investment into culture and heritage infrastructure for the borough. - To minute, document and support communication of Culture and Heritage Service programme activities including events, workshops, exhibitions, infrastructure development etc using a range of media (e.g. words, photography, video, audio), and to ensure projects and programmes are communicated effectively to internal LBBD stakeholders, colleagues and external partners/residents - To support the engagement and mobilisation of residents and teams across the council to take part in Culture and Heritage initiatives; ensuring that council teams and residents are properly involved in the delivery and development of key projects and strategic initiatives.. General Accountabilities and Responsibilities (All roles) - Ensure compliance with appropriate legislation, Council Policies, the Council Constitution (including Contract Rules, Financial Regulations and Rules, Employment Procedure Rules, Employees’ Code of Conduct), Information Security Policies, Social Media Policy and other requirements of the Council. - Ensure high standards of records management and assume responsibility for all information assigned to the post. - Promote the development of a high quality individual need led service, to comply at all times with the Council’s policies and procedures, particularly those regarding Data Protection, Equalities and Diversity and Health and Safety. - Ensure compliance with and actively promote the Council’s Equalities and Diversity policies and strategies and comply with the Equality Act 2010. - Ensure compliance with and actively promote Health and Safety at work legislation, Council and Service H&S policies and procedures. - Comply with the competencies and standard requisites agreed by the Council as relevant to your post. - Comply with the General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018) (all employees of the Council will not disclose or make use of, for their private advantage, any information held on manual or computer records, which are not available to the public, however acquired). - Take responsibility for continuing self-development and participate in training and development activities. The above mentioned duties are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the postholder may be called upon to carry out such other appropriate duties as may be required by the Line Manager within the grading level of the post and the competence of the postholder.
