Receptionist at The Firs Care Centre

**RECEPTIONIST**
**Monday-Friday 8am-4pm**
**Needs to have good working knowledge of microsoft (excel, outlook, word etc) and preferably care home experience but not essential**
**Accountable to**:Care Centre Manager
**Job Purpose**:To welcome visitors to the Care Centre and offer refreshments and assist them with their visit.
To answer the telephone in a polite and professional manner, redirecting the call where necessary and dealing with enquiries.
To provide support to the Care Centre Manager, Directors and Administrator on administrative matters.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
**1**Update policy folders as required.
**2**Support Care Centre Manager and Administrator as appropriate in general administration duties.
**3**Answer the telephone and respond to enquiries, re-directing these as necessary in a friendly and efficient manner.
4 Welcome visitors to the care centre and assist them where necessary.
5 Provide refreshments to visitors.
**6**Ensure confidentiality is maintained in handling all sensitive information to include resident and staff information. Files should be kept locked away. Information should not be left out. (see GDPR policies and procedures)
**7**Forward information to Directors and Operations Manager as requested. This may be a direct request from the Director or Operations Manager, or a delegated duty by the Care Centre Manager, Administrator or Person in Charge.
**8**To work flexible hours if required by the home.
**9**Participate in staff meetings and attend relevant training sessions as required.
10 Every employee has a responsibility for giving due regard to their own safety and the safety of their colleagues, residents and visitors to the home. Each employee will comply with the health and safety policy and fully observe the safe working practices.
11 Maintain accurate records in accordance with Company policies.
12 Carry out photocopying as required, check deliveries and take minutes of meetings if required.

Changes which affect the organisation may necessitate the responsibilities of this post to be reviewed following consultations with the post holder.

Pay: £12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
