Ackerman Pierce are currently looking to recruit an **Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO)** in **Rochdale Council**.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Chairing looked after children and young people's reviews
- To lead the business planning process for the LAC Reviewing Team
- To lead on ensuring effective, outcome-focused systems are in place to review the plans for Looked After Children
- To take a lead role in specified developmental tasks and projects in the areas of Looked After Children
- To advise the Service Manager on the development of Council child care policies and procedures
- To provide consultation on complex child care matters across the Directorate, to include team managers and social workers
- To carry out audits on social work practice, analyse and report on performance of the service
- Chairing complex multi-agency procedures
- Chairing LAC reviews or Child Protection conferences
- Safeguarding for Children & Young People
- Liaising with other professionals
- Knowledge of relevant legislation

**Experience preferred**:

- Previously working in an extensive post qualifying role

**Minimum Requirements**:

- 1 year experience in a similar role within the UK
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
