Hire & Transport Controller

We are recruiting for a **Hire & Transport Controller **to be based out of our **Birmingham depot**

**Purpose**

Maintain frictionless service to our customers by ensuring all depot administrative tasks are completed, with expectations met and planning efficient routes, always ensuring Transport compliance at all times. This includes the management of paperwork processes, communication and depot efficiency. Working
closely with all functions & teams throughout the depot to achieve traceability across all stock movements, transport movements, customer satisfaction & a fulfilment of the company’s promise

**Roles and Responsibilities**

1.1st line of support for the Depot Manager providing support for daily planning
2. Managing the daily workflows within Transport and Hire Admin, whilst always having a forward
thinking approach and assisting where needed.
3. Managing all aspects of the workflows for route planning, driver liaison and daily support to other
departments of the company to ensure all deliveries and collections are planned in an optimised
and efficient manner and timings and brand promise are adhered to. Ensuring the routes are
planned in the most cost effective way
4. Manage all on and off hire bookings & general Administration
5. Budget responsibility for the depot logistics and goods & parts ordered
6. Budget reporting
7. Collaborate & interact with all depot functions to provide adequate levels of support to the
wider company
8. Ensuring all drivers comply with relevant transport legislation and FOR’s.
9. Providing drivers booking details that are required for certain sites
10. Ensuring the transport function hit the KPI service rate
11. Assisting our customer service team and drivers over the phone, managing the daily logistic to a
high standard
12. Assisting with all transport function reports
13. Assisting with fleet compliance - Booking vehicles in for maintenance and ensuring they go into
our service providers on the set date and time and meet compliance standards
14. Oversee and carry out investigations of discrepancies relating to off-hires/incoming stock.
15. Ensure all paperwork is present and correct for end of month invoicing
- Scan all goods in paperwork etc and liaise with relevant departments
- Use unloading manifest to investigate all queries relating to items not returned and
communicate accordingly
- Manage all goods in paperwork for incoming deliveries in to the depot
16. Comply with all company procedures and policies including OH&S
17. Support all parts ordering for workshop team
18. Depot Supplies ordering
19. Keep records of absence & holiday bookings
20. Contributing to daily huddles and meetings arranged by the Depot Manager

- Ability to work consistently.
- Attributes: Excellent attention to detail, highly organised and very good communication skills
- Good knowledge of West & East Midlands area
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
- You are mature, upbeat and have a genuine interest in a transport function, have lots of energy and hate
to be bored. You are self
- controlled and a systematic, logical thinker and will complete any job given with
