Geocore Site Investigations Limited part of RSK Group Ltd are a site investigations contractor.

We now have an opportunity for a **Lead Driller** to join our team in** Redcar** to deliver geotechnical services.

**Lead Driller - Redcar**

**Responsibilities**:

- Problem solving ensuring constant borehole progression safely
- To supervise and provide the Drilling Assistants with clear instructions. Ensuring relevant training is provided with a view to promoting them to Lead Drillers
- Communicate regularly with the Technical Manager on daily progress, target completion and issues arising
- To ensure all appropriate PPE is worn at all times
- Understand specific testing instructions, completing and reporting work to the required British Standards & Eurocode for testing & sampling on time and in the appropriate format
- Undertake hand excavated inspection pits, general labouring duties and general reinstatement
- Ensuring maintenance & appearance of works vehicle & rig is kept to high standard
- Carry out routine maintenance on plant and equipment and report all defects
- Provide effective input to projects consistent with your skills and experience
- Leave work areas clean and tidy and organise your work to minimise reinstatement

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- GCSE in Maths and English, Grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Previous manual / technical work
- Full UK driving licence is essential
- Flexibility to work throughout the UK regularly at short notice
- Previous drilling experience - desirable
- Health and safety qualification
- Strong problem-solving skills
- CSCS Card - desirable
- Telescopic handler licence - desirable
- Team work and Organisational skills

**Salary and benefits**:

- **
£27,000 - £32,000 Depending on Experience**:

- ** Over time** - Basic hours are 39 per week, with employees working between 45-52 hours on average - Great Overtime potential
