We are currently hiring a Quantum Algorithm Researcher to be based in Oxford, UK with flexible working arrangements.
Job Purpose:
You will join the highly motivated interdisciplinary research team, developing the state-of-the-art algorithms and quantum computing routines with a focus on Quantum Machine Learning.
As a Quantum Algorithm Researcher, your input into how quantum computers will be able to solve complex problems will be central to the business initiatives. Collaborating and communicating with end-users from academia and industry will be an important part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carryout progressive research and devise novel algorithms for both supervised and unsupervised quantum machine learning techniques
- Use your knowledge about academic and commercial challenges to shape the research direction of the team
- Evaluate capabilities and features of currently available hardware platforms and build solutions that would leverage these features
- Communicate approaches and results in the form of discussions and presentations to the team members and wider collaborators
- Interact and work with a wide range of academic and industry partners
- Engage with the wider community through conference talks and technical demonstrations
Essential Skills
- Hands-on quantum algorithm development experience either in academic or industry setting
- Evidence of high-quality academic research
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working both independently and in a research team
- Desire to learn, with a capacity both to lead and follow
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of unsupervised and supervised machine learning techniques
- Understanding of Quantum Machine Learning
- Good programming skills in any of the following programming languages: Python, Q#, C++
- Experience in benchmarking quantum algorithms
Role Specifications
- Full-time
- Base Location: Oxford, United Kingdom
- Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
