Care Support Worker

Luke loves being outdoors, going for long walks (especially on those rare sunny days in Scotland) and just being as generally active as possible. A typical day could include accompanying Luke to the Farm where he volunteers, going swimming which, he loves, going to the shops to ensure Luke has all the essentials he needs or even just to have a wander around his local community. In his downtime, Luke enjoys watching movies, playing video games and just having a general blether with friends. Luke receives support 7 days a week 24 hours per day. Sadly, it’s not always possible for Luke to enjoy what many people would consider these ‘simple pleasures’ without proper, dedicated support.

Supporting Luke will involve driving Luke to his activities, he has his own car, and also will involve sleepover shifts, evening shifts and weekends.

Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within ENABLE Scotland by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes - whatever they may be

Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.
