**The Role**

Manchester Staffs is working with a well-established service provider based in South Manchester, which provides facilities to clients throughout the UK.

**Key Accountabilities**

Ensure schemes are rated according to criteria to produce a satisfactory underwriting profit.

Have up to date and ongoing overview of the performance of all schemes within own area of responsibility through own analysis & working with other departments.

To develop and maintain good working relationships with the external insurer and other external suppliers.

To innovatively review and analyse potential new business and existing business.

Assist with the management of the relationships with business partners and clients, utilising the auditing, claims and analysis resources available within the business

Build good relationships with business partners, brokers and agents

Maintain detailed and accurate records of underwritten policies

Determine the wording and premium for new/existing policies

Assist in the design and implementation of product specifications new/existing whilst adhering to compliance and regulatory procedures

To ensure Acasta Europe Limited and business partners, brokers and agents, comply with relevant regulatory bodies, including meeting any training needs of the sales agents to ensure compliance, including responsibility for implementing FCA requirements andrecommendations.

Develop assistant underwriters and other staff (where necessary) to improve immediate performance and realise future potential.

To report to management any impact on profitability and performance of any 'large losses’

Work with the actuarial function in setting prices for products

Ensure the underwriting manager is kept briefed on the current markets and any issues that arise

Maintains an understanding of responsibilities under Solvency II and any other related requirements and regulations.

Welcome the use of new technology, and encourage ideas and methods that will enhance the actuarial and accounting function, along with the business.

Act as a role model and encourage growth and development for assistant underwriters.

Self-motivated learner and happy to progress towards Certificate or Diploma in CII

**Essential Experience**

Maths and English GCSE.

At least 3 years’ experience in underwriting for an insurer or MGA

Good Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

**Desirable Experience**

Either has or working towards Certificate/Diploma in CII
