Fostering Service Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an award-wining social enterprise to lead their Fostering Service located in Romford, Essex, from 'Good’ to 'Outstanding’. The Fostering Service Manager role will give you the platform to develop and deliver theorganisation’s Fostering Service Business Plan and to shape, influence, and implement the future growth and development of their Fostering Services in the London & East regions.

The Fostering Service Manager will be the Ofsted Registered Manager and will be accountable for the service meeting all regulatory requirements. Alongside this are exciting challenges and opportunities for the new Service Manager as the organisation continuesto develop and improve their services. You’ll be given a good deal of autonomy to shape the way the service is planned and delivered both locally and more widely as part of the national Operational Management Group.

Success in this role will be shown by the Fostering Service Manager working with your team to achieve an operational setting which is practice based, but also commercially sensitive and financially viable.

The Fostering Service Manager will be working with a team who are driven and ambitious to continually improve the service they provide to children and foster carers. You will also be supported by experienced managers and colleagues and an organisation where,in their Employee Survey, 99% of fostering employees stated that the organisation had a positive impact on society. ?

The organisation needs you to bring your experience of working in a management position within a Fostering Service, either in an Independent, Voluntary or Local Authority setting.

The Fostering Service Manager will have demonstrable experience or knowledge of working in a commercial environment within a childcare setting, with a strong commitment to turning around the lives of the children and young people with whom they work.

Experience in resource and performance management is essential and you will need to have a good knowledge of the Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards.

Along with your a current Social Work England Registration, you’ll hold either a Level 5 in Leadership & Management qualification or be prepared to undertake training to achieve this within the first year of appointment.

You will be required to travel extensively in the area covered by this service and occasionally beyond for meetings and other events in your role as part of the Fostering Service Operations Management Group.

The hours for this role are 37 hours per week and will be office based in Romford, Essex.
