**IT Support Engineer**

**Newcastle upon Tyne, Hybrid (3 days in 2 days at home)**

Reporting to the IT Service Manager, we are looking for a skilled IT Support Engineer to assist in the maintenance of our IT Network, Hardware and Software. You will be required to assist in ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly, resolving issues ina timely fashion.

Working alongside our managed IT Service Provider and other service providers, you will be responsible for offering technical advice and guidance to the IT Team and supporting a number of Infrastructure projects led by our IT Service Provider(s) on behalfof M Group Services Energy Retail.

**Key Responsibilities**:
With prior IT engineering experience, you will have a successful and proven track record of maintaining and providing technical guidance across a broad range of IT Infrastructure technologies.
- Managing IT infrastructure -Desktops/ Laptops -Windows, Servers, Wi-Fi, Endpoint Security
- Providing technical support for both hardware and software issues
- Ensuring a proactive approach to day to day tasks and identify potential problems before they arise
- Managing Hardware and Software Assets
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
- Coordinating with employees and customers through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
- Troubleshooting system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
- Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
- Testing and evaluating new technology
- Exchange, Azure, Teams and SharePoint administration
- 3 years of experience in the IT industry with proven systems management and design documentation experience.
- Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills
- VMWare Virtualisation Technology
- Have good attention to detail and be able to work to deadlines.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Team worker with the ability to use own initiative.
- Thrives on work that is challenging, relevant and rewarding.

Essential
- High level knowledge of Windows 10 & 11, Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, Citrix, Cloud Technologies, Active Directory, Kubernetes, Endpoint Security, Microsoft Office 365 & Azure
- Strong time-management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Experience of working in both support and fast paced project environments.
- Delegation and coordination skills
- Ability to take direction

Desirable
- Experience of working with ServiceNow
- Understanding and knowledge of Oracle databases
- Understanding of SPARC infrastructure hardware
- Experience of Network Design.
