An opportunity has arisen for a **Part-Time Accounts Assistant **to our rapidly growing and successful business. Initially this role will be between 15-20 hours per week and we can offer flexibility as to how and where you wish to work these hours. We would however, require you to be able to attend our fun and vibrant offices in St Albans for one day a week.

The **Part Time Accounts Assistant** will support the Head of Finance & Operations in all aspects of the accounting function, helping to maintain the office and keep it running smoothly. **The Part Time Accounts Assistant** will be responsible for the following key tasks:
**Responsibilities**:

- Carrying out the key time-critical tasks such as credit control, raising invoices, coding and processing purchase invoices and expenses.
- Reconciling key balance sheet accounts at month end and journals as necessary, including bank accounts.
- Setting up Direct Debit instructions and taking ad hoc Credit card payments
- Assisting with quarterly VAT return
- Producing departmental month end reports & other key month end reports
- Liaising with third party providers, clients and suppliers
- Supporting the Head of Finance & Operations with other office administrative duties as required.

As well as having experience in a similar role or working within an accounting department we are looking for the **Part Time Accounts Assistant** to be a confident, self starter who is used to managing their own workload with strong teamwork skills, time management, motivation and the ability to work autonomously. A formal accounting qualification such as AAT would be useful but is not essential but we would like you to have experience in using an accounting system (ideally Xero) and experience in using the full suite of Office 365.
