We are looking for people to join our **Complex & Palliative Home Care** service.
As part of your role, you will have a mixture of complex, non-complex and palliative care calls. You will be recruited to a dedicated care team operating in:
- Gosforth (NE3)
For this role we are recruiting:
- 2 x Drivers (Females only)
- 2 x Walkers (Females only)
**Pay: £11.25 (Complex) / £10.75 (Non-complex and Palliative)**
- Mileage - 40p per mile for drivers / 15p per mile for cyclists
- Part-time hours available
- Full-time hours available
- Bonus schemes*: up to £300 new starter, £300 Refer a Friend, £250 annual bonus. £25 birthday gift voucher.
As a **Care Assistant** for **Be Caring, **your working hours will be aligned to our shift patterns, which includes:
- Early shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm
- Late shift: 3:00pm - 11:00pm
As a **Care Assistant** for** Be Caring **we will agree your working pattern, setting 2-week rota which includes:
- Alternate full weekends, or every Saturday or every Sunday
- Evenings as agreed within your working hours

If you have previous experience as a Carer for family or friends, you'll make an excellent **Complex & Palliative **Care Assistant** based in **Gosforth**.
Palliative care requires individuals who are kind, dedicated, committed, and have a genuine desire to support someone to have high-quality person-centred end-of-life care. The goal is to make sure our customers' needs are met, where they feel most comfortable, within their own homes.
Complex care is person-centred specialist support for someone with a chronic, long-term health condition and complex needs, who require extra assistance to manage their symptoms and day-to-day activities to enable a high quality of life. This will include some people who have complex care needs, for example, PEG feeds, tracheostomy care, spinal injuries, bowel care, ventilation. **Our in-house Nurse will ensure you have the competencies and specialist training for your role.**
**Induction Training**
We are looking for people with **Be Caring** values to join our team. You may have no direct experience, or you may have been a Carer for a friend or family member. We will provide you with the training you need to be an outstanding **Complex & Palliative Care **Assistant. You will be provided with specialist and bespoke training, designed around the needs of the individuals you provide care for. You will be required to participate in additional training dependent on the needs of the service user, this may include but is not limited to:
- Extensive end-of-life training.
- Complex training and competency spot checks, carried out by our registered nurse, which could include:
- Nutritional needs via PEG
- Bowel care
- Cough assist
- Tracheostomy care
- Spinal injury associated care
- Ventilation needs
- Assistance with suction
- Acquired brain injury (ABI) associated needs
- Support with epilepsy including rescue medication administration
- Dealing with autonomic dysreflexia (AD) attacks
- Complex moving and positioning, including the use of equipment
