An exciting opportunity to join a passionate and growing team of former start-up founders within Blackfinch that invests in early-stage technology companies. As a Ventures Analyst you will be a vital link between the investment team and internal and externalstakeholders regarding Blackfinch Ventures’ products and investments. You’ll help track performance and positioning against competitors, and work with the senior members in the team to prepare updates and reports. You will also contribute to core investmentteam activity during busy times in the year. This is an important role in a dedicated, hard-working ecosystem that aims to invest in some of the UK’s most talented companies.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Track and monitor performance of our venture funds.
- Act as a key conduit between the investment team and internal stakeholders.
- Lead on responding to third-party review requests.
- Help draft product literature with support from the senior team.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to prepare client communications.
- Manage the process for handling all external requests for product details.
- Track competitors to help inform our market-leading strategy.
- Undertake any other duties as requested by senior managers.
**Skills & Experience**
- Good communication skills, especially fluent writing.
- Strong logical, numerical and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- High levels of organisation and discipline, with excellent time management.
- An ability to quickly assimilate new and complex information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- An entrepreneurial mindset.
Any of the following would be helpful:
- An understanding of personal taxation, including inheritance tax, income tax, and capital gains tax.
- An understanding of tax reliefs and exemptions, especially EIS and VCTs.
- A basic understanding of the UK regulatory environment.
- Some exposure to relational databases or CRM systems such as Salesforce.
- Experience working in a professional services environment.
- Experience of product marketing.
**Desirable Qualifications**
- Entry-level investment management qualification such as the IMC (or similar) is desirable.
