Part-time support worker required, to work over 7 days a week, including days/evenings/weekends/sleep-ins.
This position is working with adults with a mental health diagnosis which is interesting and rewarding.
Duties to include cooking, cleaning, administering medication, attending appointments, providing emotional support and activities and some personal care.
Shifts are usually between the hours of 8am and 10pm. The duration of the shift is 8 - 10 hours but can be flexible.
Must be able to work weekends, evenings and at least one sleep-in per week.
Must have full UK driving license.

**About us**: We specialise in care for people living with mental illness who require assistance with aspects of their physical and mental well-being.
**A Support Worker at The Crescent will be required to**:
- Attend to service users’ mental and physical health needs such as understanding medication, diagnosis, processes, activities, communication with families
- Provide emotional support and therapeutic activities and facilitate referrals to appropriate services in the community
- Administer medication, be proactive in ordering and auditing and keep accurate records on the software system
- Respond in a timely manner to meet a service user’s physical and mental health needs
- Record daily care notes on the PCS and provide quality handover notes and face to face handovers to colleagues
- Carry out housekeeping duties to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the home
- Take an active role in preparing, cooking and serving meals with health, taste and nutrition in mind
- Attend to service users’ mental and physical well-being
- Accompany service users to appointments and other outside arrangements
- Accompany service users on outdoor activities
- Liaise with other healthcare professionals including District Nurses, Social Workers, the GP, Consultants, Psychiatrists, Physiotherapists, etc
- Liaise with service users’ families and friends
- Assist with infection control practices and procedures
- Carry out some administrative tasks when necessary
- Assist the management staff, more senior staff and the Registered Manager with all aspects of running the Home.
A Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 (previously NVQ Level 2) or a Care Certificate must be attained within a year of starting work.

- Evidence of good attention to detail with strong accuracy and efficiency in record keeping
- Willingness to work flexibly and to keep knowledge and skills up-to-date
- Ability to access and move around The Crescent home and outside areas
- A willingness and ability to drive the Service Users to appointments and activities using a manual company pool car, with a full and valid UK licence
- A positive, can-do attitude
- A professional manner, remembering at all times that The Crescent is the Service Users’ home
- The willingness and ability to undertake housekeeping tasks
- The willingness and ability to cook balanced and nutritious meals for the Service Users
- A Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 (previously NVQ Level 2) and some experience in care is desirable, but not necessary.
