Vmu Mechanic

We are looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join our Vehicle Maintenance Unit team at our Morrisons site in Bellshill (ML4). Where you’ll be carrying out Service repairs, MOT Inspections, Trailer Inspections, Trailer MOT prep, defects and running repairs to company vehicles. You’ll be joining a very experienced team so great chance to develop your skills and knowledge further

You’ll be working in a clean and warm environment with onsite canteen, on a 2-week shift pattern on Nights, 2 on, 2 off, 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 3 off, so you’ll get a good life work balance

**Pay, benefits and more**:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £15.35 per hour, plus £1.80 per hour, back shift allowance across all hours worked. In addition, we offer 20 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays, as well as the option to buy additional days. **What you’ll do on a typical day**:

- Maintain all vehicles, trailers and workshop equipment to company/legal standards to ensure maximum operational availability for the Transport Department.
- Ensure that the care and condition of all Company equipment is maintained and report all defects/damages.
- Maintain a recording monitoring system to comply with legal and company requirements.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure that site Health & Safety standards comply with Company Policy.

**What you need to succeed at GXO**:

- Completed a 4-year apprenticeship with 2 years’ experience as an HGV Technician
- Your own tools
- Class 1 license is preferred but not essential
- Need to have driving experience for reversing and moving vehicles into the workshop
