**FAS Application Specialist (DNS)**

**Set the Scene**
We are looking for a**FAS Application Specialist**whose role will primarily involve incident management on our clients’ live system, on FAS App incidents that have been escalated from level 1/2 resources that are often remotely based environments.The role will be working with other embedded engineers within the **CyISOCs**. Scope of responsibilities are **managing live incidents to technical resolution**, development of new technical offerings, and the upkeep of components through **security patch testing** and distribution. **Creating SOIs** and **providing knowledge transfers to military personnel**.
The FAS Application Support Services shall be provided at each CyISOCs, ISOC and at ISS Corsham.
The FAS Application Support Services shall include:
- Level 3 Support for all FAS Applications (including FAS Applications comprised in the FAS Application Baseline build)
- Initial assessment of each new FAS Application developed by the Authority or the Authority's Third Party Vendors, including undertaking technical and functional testing of each FAS Application in the FAS Application Testing Environment
- Upon completion of its initial assessment and testing pursuant to Paragraph 2.5.4(C), promptly delivering a post-testing report to the Authority setting out its recommendations relating to relevant FAS Application
- Integration, testing and release support for FAS Applications in both the FAS Application Testing Environment and those environments on which FAS Applications are installed
- Managing the configuration and release of all FAS Applications Approved for inclusion in the FAS Application Baseline
- FAS Application installation, release and distribution of FAS Application software;
- Preparing instruction manuals and handbooks explaining the installation, use and maintenance of FAS Applications to End Users
- Reporting of new or recurring risks and issues in relation to delivery of Services supporting FAS Applications to the SO1 Deliver
- End-to-end set up and configuration of FAS Applications within the FAS Application Baseline for Exercises, Operations and Trials and Testing
- Ensuring that all configuration management activity has been captured in, and is regularly updated in, the Configuration Management Database
- Collaborate with the Authority and the Authority's Third Parties, to control all master copies of the FAS Applications
- Supporting the FAS Applications with WANs implementation and replications
- Advising the Authority on data archiving, preservation and retrieval in relation to FAS Applications
- Integrating multiple technology data links and feed types from sensors and radar to integrate these into SIGACT reporting tools
- Acting as the single point of contact for the receipt of FAS Applications and updates from the Release Management Process
- Managing the release of all FAS Applications and updates to the LBS Systems and NSoIT(D) Systems through the Release Management Process
- FAS Applications support, advice and recommendations to design change
- Management of the FAS DML
- Potential travel for weeks away from home to support FAS on the customer exercises. This Non-core support is occasionally carried out by volunteer arrangement for exercise periods, either at UK bases or abroad. These usually last 2-3 weeks and occur infrequently.
**Skill Requirement**
- Subject matter expert-level knowledge of **virtual environments**:
- **Knowledge of Tactical Data Links** (TDL) interconnections in order to integrate TDL types of IP and serial feeds from sensors and radar using converting serial for the integration of SIGACT reporting tools and a wide range of multi-technologicalfeed types
- **Knowledge and expertise in Instant Messaging** (IM) areas including knowledge of building and supporting WAN Wide Instant Messaging Networks for the Joint World including Federation/S2S and Multi & Cross Domain Interoperability, Interoperabilitywith BITS/TNG BHCHAT, SAMETIME, MIRCA and LOGFAS
