We are looking for enthusiastic counter assistants to join our friendly team. We are a busy fish and chip takeaway and require those who apply, to have a good conversational skills and a good degree of common sense as well as the ability to multi task.

What you can expect your duties to include: Helping customers place their orders at the till and over the phone, taking cash and card machine payments, box up customer orders, keeping work areas clean and tidy, washing up (mainly dishwasher), refilling of stock, food preparation and other associated tasks

Experience in a similar environment would give you an edge, as would a food hygiene certificate. Full training will be given.

Uniforms will be provided, but it’s your responsibility wash and iron them before each shift.

**Responsibilities**:

- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Serve food items according to established procedures
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with food preparation as needed
- Upsell menu items to increase sales
- Provide assistance to customers with special requests or dietary restrictions

**Skills**:

- Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
- Experience working in a kitchen, restaurant or takeaway environment
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order calculations

**Shift A**: 10am till between 4 & 5pm, **Shift B**: 4pm till between 10 & 11pm, **Shift C**: 12pm till 7 & 8pm, **Shift D** 3pm till between 9 & 10pm, **Shift E**: 11am till between 6 & 7 pm, **Shift F**:12pm to 10pm, Shifts can be a mixture of these shifts but will normally include one daytime shift, one evening shift and one day over the weekend.

Please note that this position may require standing for long periods of time and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is preferred.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 20 per week
