My client - a well-established Lloyd's underwriting business are currently recruiting for a Credit Analyst to join their team.

The Credit Analyst will work alongside a small friendly team, providing credit analysis to support the Political Risk and Credit underwriters and on-going credit risk portfolio management.

**What you will actually do -**
- Undertake financial and economic analysis of current and prospective/target obligors, including analysis of financial statements, financial forecast and cash flow models
- Interpret financial structures underlying the proposed enquiries
- Make risk appetite recommendations to Underwriters
- Produce internal credit reports
- Structure sector research and peer analysis across a wide range of sectors and report any adverse market and sector developments
- Ensure all Underwriters are kept appraised of market issues and conditions
- Manage and monitor the team’s existing credit risk exposures and deliver regular monitoring and portfolio analysis reports
- Participate in internal credit discussions and represent the business at appropriate meetings with clients and stakeholders
- Actively manage and update credit risk pricing models and procedures working together with the Actuarial team
- Assess new business opportunities from a credit risk perspective
- Support underwriters in developing and implementing the team’s strategy with regards to obligor and sector appetite, underlying structures and tenor and portfolio concentration risk
- Take a pro-active role in developing and implementing the team’s ESG strategy in particular setting up underwriting criteria to mitigate climate transition associated risks and progressively aligning the portfolio to climate transition challenges
- Deliver bespoke credit training as and when needed

**What you will need -**
- 10 + years experience in a similar Credit Analyst role
- A Bachelor's degree, CFA/ACCA or another professional qualification would be highly advantageous
- Strong credit analysis experience across a range of sectors and geographies
- An understanding of economic trends and their implication on political and credit risks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to establish credibility with senior management, as well as underwriters and business leaders
- Enthusiastic, pro-active, motivated, keen to learn and to support Underwriters

This role is paying a basic salary up to £120,000 depending on experience, a bonus and extensive benefits.
