Are you an established Technical Officer with a demonstrable history within Highways projects? Are you looking for an opportunity to play a leading role within the SPV delivering the largest Highways Project in Wales? Then a role within this exciting business could be for you.
My client is looking to recruit an experienced Technical Officer with solid construction experience in the Highways sector. Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer you will be responsible for monitoring the delivery of works to ensure they are completed to programme, meeting quality requirements. You will have daily interface with both the Design and Construction teams.
Your duties will include:
- Reporting directly to the CTO in relation to the Works and in particular with respect to design, construction, programme, cost, health, safety, environmental, quality and community benefits issues in accordance with the Project Agreement requirements.
- Day to day site meetings looking at design, construction, testing, commissioning and certification matters, attending technical meetings as required.
- Attend design meetings to discuss proposed design solutions, challenges and upcoming submissions as required.
- Attend site meetings to discuss construction methods, programme and progress.
- Monitoring design development and construction onsite to ensure that the they continue to support Project Co’s lifecycle strategy.
- Checking that the Construction Contractor deliverables meet Project Agreement, legal and quality plan requirements.
- Witnessing tests and hold points, monitoring permits and consents, design and construction risks.
- Monitoring and alerting the CTO of any potential material difference, claim or dispute.
- Maintaining a daily site diary with photographs.
- Monitoring the Construction Contractor´s PTU planning.
Ideal Qualifications include:
- Civil engineering background.
- Highways and bridges delivery experience, the ability to understand key technical, commercial and contractual issues.
- Ability to deal with complex situations, including possible disputes / key disagreement.
- between the Authority and the Construction Contractor.
- Experience of highways DBFO/PFI project delivery is desirable.
- Understanding of Integrated Management Systems.
