Mad Science North West London is a Science entertainment company based in Ealing, West London that covers the whole London Area and some extended zones. We provide after school clubs, workshops, assemblies/shows, camps and parties to primary school aged children (4-11 years old).

Our goal is to entertain children using a mixture of hands-on experiments and amazing demonstrations that inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. Mad Science has been running for over 40 years out of Canada and nearly 20 years in London. As an instructor you will be expected to be able to deliver a variety of experiments, with basic explanations while controlling a classroom full of kids.

**What we offer**:
We provide paid in person training for all our kits, with running orders and risk assessments as a backup provided in each kit. This will be paid at £10 per Kit. Instructors will be required to arrive 15-20 minutes before events to set up their equipment and account for travel delays. We pay 45p per mile after 10 miles of travel.

**After School Programs**:
A typical ASP runs for 10-12 weeks during term time and lasts 60 minutes. Most clubs start around 3-3.30pm and we offer double clubs to most schools. These clubs are capped at 25 children per class. Each session will be on a different topic and will require a new kit each week. Once trained on the kit it would be used for all that week's ASP’s.

**Workshops/Science days**:
Our workshops are done in school hours with the aid of the school staff to full classes of children.

They are based on the ASP content.

**Camps**:
Our camps run from 9am - 4pm during school holidays. They are a mixture of science experiments and games. You will be with several other instructors all day and have at least 1 experienced Mad Scientist as a lead.

**Parties**:
Our parties run for 1 - 2 hours in which time you will perform some science demos, make a take home gift with the kids and perform a large scale finale. 1 hour parties last for a solid 60 minutes whereas a 2 hour party will have a 30 minute break after the first hour for children to eat, followed by 30 minutes for science.

**Other special events**:
We often get asked to do large scale events or travel beyond our franchise area. In these cases we would offer you more for your services as a Mad Science Instructor. Beyond 50 miles of travel we would provide hotels and food were needed in addition to mileage.

**What were looking for**:

- Enthusiasm and energy to gain interest from children
- A passion for working with children
- Ability to build a good rapport with children
- Confident presentation skills
- Have a Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car
- Have a Full Enhanced DBS or be willing to undergo a full DBS check

**Preferred skills and experience but not essential**:

- Experience working with children aged between 4 and 11;
- A science background
- First Aid trained

**Job Types**: Part-time, Freelance

Pay: From £35.00 per hour
