A School-based Youth Justice Prevention Officer / Targeted Services Officer is needed for 2 to 3 months.
Your role will be to support young people to improve their attendance in school as well as improving their engagement in their education placement. The team works collaboratively with stakeholders including schools, safeguarding teams, health care providers, CAMHS and the Police to achieve the best outcomes for children in education settings. The role will provide the opportunity to develop creative, strengths-based approaches to working with children and families.
You will be based within the school although you will also be expected to support young people and their families within the community. You will also be able to work from home at times where the demands of the duties allow.
As it is expected that you will be working within communities it is essential that you are a Car Driver/have access to appropriate transport to travel citywide.
**Qualifications**:
- Good general education and evidence of high standard of literacy and numeracy
- Actively pursuing Continuing Professional Development as defined by professional body - desirable
**Skills & Experience:
**- Previous experience of working within Prevention Teams working with young people, parents and carers in school settings as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of improving young people’s engagement with education, improve attendance and support young people on their education journey.
- Experience of supporting young people to improve their attendance in school as well as improving their engagement in their education placement.
- Able to work collaboratively with stakeholders including schools, safeguarding teams, health care providers, CAMHS and the Police to achieve the best outcomes for children in education settings.
- Ability to develop creative, strengths-based approaches to working with children and families.
