Payroll and Finance Officer
Do you offer experience of working within a payroll or finance function? Do you have excellent administration skills?
This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills and experience, playing a key role in the finance department at Emanuel School.
As Payroll and Finance Officer, you will ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school’s payroll and be the primary point of contact for payroll, pension and benefits queries from staff.
You will also be responsible for all payroll accounting, accounting for the Emanuel School General Charitable Trust, as well as trip accounting.
To be considered for this role you will need:
- A willingness to complete a CIPP qualification if not already qualified
- Basic knowledge or experience of payroll practices
- AAT certification, or be part qualified with CIMA, ACCA, ACA or possess an accounting degree
A thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices is equally important.
**Working at Emanuel**
Colleagues enjoy working at Emanuel and, like the pupils, are ambitious for the school, delivering a challenging curriculum and an exciting co-curricular programme.
There’s a strong sense of community and friendship amongst our staff. An open dialogue about the school’s aims and direction of travel is maintained with a weekly pre-school briefing, half-termly staff meetings, termly consultative group meetings and a dynamic common room committee.
Emanuel works hard to look after its employees, who all benefit from good pension provision and free lunches. Our appraisal scheme focuses on professional development and we sponsor postgraduate courses and a range of training opportunities. Staff wellbeing is extremely important to us: a healthcare plan via Simply Health that includes counselling and medical support is offered to all staff; staff yoga, football and mindfulness meditation are amongst the weekly activities colleagues can participate in.
