Job Title: Hygiene Operative

Reporting to: Hygiene Supervisor, in the absence of Hygiene Manager

Job Purpose: to ensure all aspects of the day-to-day cleaning of Panificio Italiano are maintained and in line with the Health and Safety controls onsite.

Panificio Italiano is an independent bakery in Iver, Buckinghamshire. It is a new state of art purpose built automated bakery. We bake quality products ranging from traditional recipes to new speciality breads.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

Duties would include, but are not limited to:

- Carrying out scheduled daily cleaning tasks.
- Cleaning of processing equipment and production lines meet required standards, measured through testing of samples.
- Deep cleaning of production areas, ancillary areas, and staff offices.
- Ensuring that all paperwork is correctly completed.
- Making sure that everything you do complies with Panificio Italiano’s procedures for Health and Safety and Hygiene.
- Ensuring that your cleaning, and personal protective equipment are functioning correctly at all times.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure of time.
- Reporting any incidents or environmental concerns to your line manager.
- Reporting sight of any pests to your supervisor or Line manager.
- Any other task as deemed necessary directed by Supervisor/Line Manager.

**Health and Safety responsibilities**
- Being aware of and follow relevant health and safety policy, procedures, and instructions.
- Contribute to a safe working environment.
- Report directly to HR or Line manager any Health & Safety hazard or accidents.
- Being responsible for his/her own safety.

**Food Safety responsibilities**
- Report to directly to Line manager/Technical Manager any potential food safety and quality issues.
- Contribute to a hygienic work environment in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report on food safety practices and systems.

**Requirements and Critical skills**
- Proven working experience as a Hygiene Operative.
- Good level of English with good communication skills.
- Good organisational, time management skills.
- Good team player but able to work individually.
- Be aware of Company standards, expectations and treat others with dignity and respect.
- Must possess a positive and professional attitude.
- Highly responsible and reliable.
- Expected to work across a variety of environments and you will be provided with PPE.
- The role is ideal for someone with a high degree of self-motivation and initiative.

**What can I expect?**
- You will be working 6 days a week, between Monday to Sunday. The shift times will vary on a weekly basis, you can expect to work 48 hours a week.
- The team is small but will need to be highly efficient to get the job done, so you can expect many demands on your time.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to follow strict Food safety and hygiene procedures.
- Ability to follow strict Health and Safety procedures.
- Good team working skills.
- Good observational skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £10.50-£11.00 per hour
