I am working with an engineering company looking to appoint and junior mechanical design engineer, this would be an excellent role for a recent graduate to get your foot in the door with a company that offers excellent training and progression opportunities.
**Requirements for the role**
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Understanding of materials, including selection for a wide range of mechanical assemblies
- Experience with 3D and 2D modelling software - Solidworks, AutoCAD etc
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Design and improve mechanical mechanisms for precision engineered products
- Produce detailed specifications and reports from testing
- Work as part of the technical team to review challenges and find root causes to problems, developing solutions
- Plan and oversee product development ensuring deadlines are met & consistency with the product is developed in to the design
- Ensure implementation of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
- Ensure that Knowledge transfer takes place with other departments and keep in mind issues such as cost creep, H&S, Compliance etc
