The role involves operating CCTV equipment to survey pipes and identify defects or blockages that could cause flooding or other problems. The CCTV operator surveyor with a Pipe sewer classification to MSCC5 is responsible for inspecting and assessing the condition of pipes, sewers and drainage systems using CCTV technology and creating detailing reports showing any defects and dilapidations. We also require you to be a driver in this role.

It includes working as a part of the team and completing other general tasks. Driving and operating specialised vehicles that are used for the cleaning and maintenance of sewers, drains, and other related systems. Multis skills are required to utilise a range of equipment including a bespoke Hydrascan Typhoon system, CCTV operations, jetvac and other drainage cleaning and repair tools.

You need to love working outdoors in all weather and you must be physically fit as the job involves some heavy lifting. This role requires an enthusiastic, reliable person who is keen to learn. Other requirements at Green Spark is to be enthusiastic, punctual, and polite and to have a flexible approach to your working day, to allow us to meet the needs of customers emergencies.

A full clean driving license is required. Primarily based out of our Team Valley depot, servicing contracts within the Northeast, there are occasional times when working and staying away from home is required as well as occasional planned weekend or night work. You’ll be part of a standby rota for out of hours calls to ensure the business can fully meet its service Level agreements with its clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Conducting CCTV surveys of pipes, sewers, and drainage systems to identify defects, blockages, and other issues
- Using specialist software and technology to analyse CCTV footage and generate reports on the condition of the pipes
- Classifying defects in pipes according to the industry standard MSCC5 classification system
- Creating detailed reports for clients that outline the condition of their drainage systems and recommend appropriate action to address any issues identified
- Visiting sites to gain an understanding of the project and working with clients to ensure that their requirements are fulfilled, and expectations met
- Complete work efficiently and on time to be able to complete complex work in challenging environments whilst following all codes of practice/RAMS
- Manual Handling, Carrying Suction Hose, cleaning up spillages and removing debris using brushes, shovels etc.
- Working on various Large Tanks, Wet Wells, Siphons, and other Wastewater assets when required.
- Cleaning of sewer and storm lines using a high-pressure unit or aiding with the Recycler team

Essential Skills
- Experience of CCTV drainage surveying equipment, and reporting (Wincan)
- Qualification in OS19x under MSCC 5 or 4
- A minimum 5 years relevant experience working across the spectrum of the water industry.
- Good understanding of the equipment you are using, including the jetvac tanker and other cleaning tools. You should be familiar with the operation and maintenance of the equipment, and able to troubleshoot issues that may arise.
- Safety is a top priority when working in this field. You will need to follow strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. You should also be aware of potential hazards and take precautions to avoid them.
- This job can be physically demanding, requiring you to lift heavy hoses and other equipment, climb ladders, and work in tight confined spaces.
- You will need to communicate effectively with your team and other workers on the job site. This includes listening to instructions, asking questions and providing feedback.
- You will need to manage your time effectively to ensure that you complete jobs within the required time frame.
- You should be able to think creatively and come up with solutions to unexpected problems that may arise on the job.
- You should be meticulous in your work, paying close attention to details to ensure that everything is done correctly including completion of any documentation
- You may need to interact with customers and the general public, so you should be friendly and professional.
- You will need to be aware of environmental regulations and take steps to minimize the impact of your work on the environment.
- Punctuality, presentable appearance, well mannered, polite, and courteous to a client’s representatives and other Group employees at all times
