The Anglian Coastal Monitoring Programme (ACMP) are seeking a Project and Engagement Officer to join our small team.
- The primary objective of ACMP is to collect coastal monitoring data to serve the needs of our partners and customers who have coastal management responsibilities, providing the evidence for flood and coastal erosion risk management (FCERM) decisions between the Humber and Thames Estuaries.
- This is an interactive role, providing the interface between the ACMP and our partners, stakeholders, and wider data users.
- You will play a key part in expediting the delivery of our project objectives. Reporting to the ACMP Team Leader and working closely with the data and scientific leads, you will fulfil a multi-purpose role which will suit someone with a keen interest in flood and coastal erosion risk management.
- You will:

- Help coordinate our ongoing monitoring activities,
- Help manage the programme’s survey contracts,
- Respond to customer data requests
- Input to technical reports
- Raise the profile of the ACM programme online to promote our work and share our deliverables for maximum impact
- Lead on engagement with ACMP internal and external partners
- Complete data analysis tasks using topographic, Lidar and hydrographic data to outline & highlight any evidence of coastal changeThe team
- The National Monitoring Survey team works with National & Area teams to co-deliver all the monitoring requirements of the Environment Agency and the wider environmental community.
- The team provide a range of specialist services, to enable effective evidence to be used across the business. This includes the collection and analysis of Lidar, Aerial Photography & Satellite data. We focus on delivering the highest quality data, providing a fully integrated approach to the delivery of geo-information.Experience/skills required
- You will be a confident communicator, with excellent customer engagement skills. Your enthusiasm, ambition and good organisational skills will help you to you work to deadlines and to achieve defined deadlines and targets.
- Essential:

- Educated to degree level or have equivalent experience in Geography, Environmental Science, GIS, or Remote Sensing.
- Broad experience of working with stakeholders, partners and or members of the public.
- Knowledge of technical solutions to share & present data and collaborative online working platforms.
- Excellent organisational skills and proven project management experience to deliver work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
- Ability to work on your own initiative and within a small team.
- Desirable:

- Knowledge of Environment Agency, FCERM & local authority strategic coastal management planning and policies.
- Coastal monitoring knowledge that enables you to work with and present ACMP data and analysis outputs
- Good GIS skills, ideally with ArcGIS although training can be provided.Contact and additional information
- The National Monitoring Survey team is a national team, located at various sites around the country with the main office based in Bath. It is anticipated that you will be working in a hybrid manner, combining working remotely at home with some office based work but this will be discussed in more detail at interview.
