**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
You will be supported by a team of consultant neurologists, included a dedicated consultant supervisor, and you will be fully integrated within your clinical team. There will opportunities for education and service development and your skills will be vital in helping us achieve our mission of continuing to make a national and international contribution to neurological research and treatment.
- This role is integral to the new model of care being developed at NHNN and will play a vital part in the expansion of that model. Training will be provided for neurology and stroke specific skills, with ongoing consultant and Lead Physician Associate supervision.

**Knowledge & Qualifications**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Qualified from a recognized UK/USA Physician Associate programme
- Passed the National Physician Associate Examination (and evidence of passing the recertification examination if relevant)
- Registered with the Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR)

**Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Demonstrable willingness to learn and awareness of own limitations
- Demonstrate ability to work within a team

**Desirable criteria**:

- Experience in liaising with other specialties.

**Personal Qualities**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Excellent communication skills e.g. ability to influence, motivate and negotiate
- Excellent written skills e.g. report writing skills, ability to critique patient information
- Excellent collaboration and facilitation skills
- The ability to work alone and as part of a team

**Planning and organizational Skills**:

- Excellent planning and organizational skills including managing own workload
- The ability to meet deadlines and able to priorities own workload and that of others
- The ability to deal with problems in a methodical, calm and professional manner

**Technical Skills**:

- To have advance level skills of the following: E-mail, internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Electronic Patient Records

**Desirable criteria**:

- Experience of performing Lumbar Punctures
- Experience in clinical auditing and data collection
