**Job Summary**

Shipquay Hotel is currently recruiting for a new Bar Supervisor.

In this role you will be responsible for supervising of a very successful bar under both the bar manager and the general manager.

Your Responsibilities Include:

- To ensure the smooth running of the bar at all times, ensuring that a caring, courteous service is provided.
- To be responsible for maximising profit within the bar and to continually strive for improvement.
- To take ownership when you are there and report to senior management on any issues you see arise
- To set a good example to their team by upholding a high degree of Company discipline.
- To assist with the management of variable costs such as wages, heat and light within the bar/restaurant and to ensure that equipment is properly used to avoid unnecessary repair or replacement.
- To provide ideas, suggestions and feedback to the senior management with regards to increasing sales and promotions.
- To ensure a high level of customer service at all times, ensuring that the customer always comes first.
- To maintain control of restaurant man-hour costs by working directly with the Bar Manager

**Job Type / Category**

This role will be located on site at Shipquay Hotel in Derry's city centre. Due to the industry, you will be expected to work shifts that can include weekends and evenings.

This job is a 36+ hour full time permanent. We are a fast growing business and there are opportunities for growth within the business.

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**

Essential:
At least 5 GCSE's at Grade C or better or equivalent qualifications.

Essential:

- Competent person.
- An excellent problem solver with the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Leadership qualities, must be able to set a positive example and deal with situations as they arise, and manage staff, to maintain standards.
- The ability to organise and prioritise effectively.
- Good communication skills.

Essential Requirements:

- Minimum 1 year experience at supervisory level or higher within a busy bar environment.
- Working knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety and Food Hygiene legislation

Desirable, not essential:

- Previous experience working within a hotel
