Whether your role is to improve process efficiency, monitor aircraft movements or oversee safety measures, you’ll be vital to the continuing smooth running of our airport.

**Salary**: £34,677 plus a shift allowance, rising to £38,460 after 1 years’ service.

**Shifts**: Early/late shifts (4 on, 4 off) Monday to Sunday.

As an Airfield Transport Officer (ATO) you will be required to operate vehicles and equipment across our road networks, live taxiways, grass areas and runways in order to support the airfield operation.
- Driving and operating a varied fleet of specialist and complex vehicles and machinery in support of the airfield operation, including, but not limited to: various LGV road and precinct sweepers, pickups, dustcarts and tankers.
- Operating a range of winter equipment including de-icing vehicles, sweepers, tractors, and other specialist machinery used for maintenance of airfield grasslands and habitat management.
- Carrying out a range of airfield housekeeping tasks, taking proactive action to reduce risks to aircraft from foreign object damage and risks to airfield colleagues from slips, trips and falls.
- Undertaking vehicle compliance activities including pre-use inspections, fault reporting and cleaning to ensure the vehicle remains serviceable and safe.
- Responding first to safety events ensuring details are logged correctly and escalated as necessary; making positive interventions with airfield community members to prevent incidents and maintain compliance.
- You must hold a valid driving licence and LGV Category C.
- Proven competence to operate vehicles and specialist equipment.
- Being a motivated self-starter, having the ability to work alone in a physically demanding role.
- Being curious and proactive, seek out opportunities to improve safety and the airfield operation.Great communication skills.

**Ideally, you'll also have**:

- Knowledge of the airfield topography and regulations, however full training is provided.
- PCV licence, and LGV licence to C+E category desirable but not essential.
