The Role & Key Responsibilities

Brighton and Hove Division are seeking applicants for the role of PIP 2 Investigator working within Brighton CID.
The role is varied, challenging and sometimes tough but ultimately rewarding. You will work as part of a team investigating serious and complex crime. As a PIP 2 investigator, you will carry a workload of ongoing investigations and key responsibilities include:
- Suspect interviews both in and out of custody
- Witness interviews and statements
- Evidence gathering
- Preparation of evidential files for court to include liaison with the Crown Prosecution Service
- Giving evidence at court
- Victim care and management
- Liaison with partner agencies
CID work a 9 week shift pattern consisting of early shifts ( 0700 - 1600) and late shifts( 1400 - 2200) however the successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to the night shift rota which involves working three night shifts in a row a handful of times per year.
Skills & Experience
Applicants for this role must hold a PIP Level 2 accreditation.
Brighton CID is a busy office with high workloads and so it is imperative that applicants are able to effectively prioritise their own workload, work under pressure and take a methodical approach to meet competing deadlines.
You should possess strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, colleagues, partner agencies, victims, witnesses and suspects.
