**The role**:
This role is a new addition to our national HR team and will support us with our ambitious plans to grow the attraction and retention of talent for the future, for us this means school leavers, interns, apprentices, and university graduates and those that wish to retrain from a previous career.
Although this role is based in our Manchester office this role will have a national remit.
The Early Careers Assistant will support the effective operation of our Talent Acquisition function, reporting directly to the Talent Acquisition Manger the primary responsibility of this role will be to support with resourcing and the development of our Trainee and Apprenticeship programmes both legal and non-legal whilst also supporting with general resourcing across the firm.
**Core duties and responsibilities**:
Co-ordinate all recruitment for our graduate and apprenticeship programmes, and for all our early careers from paralegals through to newly qualified solicitors across the firm
Advertising vacancies and ensuring they are compliant with the relevant standards
Arranging interviews, compiling interview packs, updating process tracking documents and systems and booking rooms and arranging MS Teams meetings.
Booking external careers fairs, work experience and insight days and be required to attend career fairs and other relevant marketing events.
Supporting with our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) initiatives in the recruitment process, ensuring the emerging talent schemes contribute to achieving our ED&I aims.
Assisting with the capture of relevant recruitment data and management information for key stakeholders
Co-ordinating offers through the approval process through to offer.
Act the first point of contact for the Firm's existing training provider relationships
Co-ordinate the training contract process including; allocations and feedback, seat rotations, support with trainee development and SRA admissions
Co-ordinate secondments for trainees and paralegals and be the first point of contact
Support with the development and implementation of Early Careers programmes. For example, not limited to new initiatives such as Vacation and Work experience schemes.
Proactively work with Supervisors and Team Leaders to support their efforts to attract, recruit and develop diverse early careers talent.
And such other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
**Skills**:
**Prior Experience of Graduate and/or Apprenticeship recruitment in a professional environment
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work on your own initiative, manage priorities and deal with high volumes.
High attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and in a timely manner.
Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships
Good knowledge of IT packages (Microsoft Office) and confident navigating systems.
Confident at presenting or hosting
**Knowledge**:
**Knowledge of legal apprenticeships and the SQE will be advantageous
Experience working within professional services will be advantageous
Awareness of external developments in the talent acquisition space
Awareness of competitor activity in the emerging talent/early careers space
