A SEN specialist school near Leatherhead are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join them ASAP. This is an exciting opportunity for Psychology graduates or experienced teaching assistants to develop their experience with Special Educational Needs andBehavioural Disorders.

Some previous experience working with SEN children is desirable but not essential. The position may include working with whole classes, running small group interventions and working on a 1:1 basis with students. The Learning Support Assistant will have theopportunity to work closely with young people with mental health difficulties, challenging behaviour and learning disabilities, such as ASD.

The schools are looking for confident, dedicated SEN teaching assistants who are enthusiastic about their input into a child's education. And not only that, the school are looking for a LSA to be a positive role model to encourage the children to fulfilltheir potential academically, as well as support them socially and emotionally. Ideally, the successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have, or show a commitment to developing, excellent behaviour management skills.

The ideal LSA will have:

- Some experience working with SEN in any setting
- Confidence to work with teenagers and challenging behaviour
- Experience working with non-verbal ASD &/or high functioning (not essential but desired)
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE's in Maths and English - C or above)
- Strong communication skills
