**Job Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring all food safety standards are met.
- Support chefs and cooks in various kitchen tasks, including chopping, slicing, and cooking ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes and sanitising work surfaces.
- Help with catering events by preparing food items as directed by the head chef.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report any shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in meal preparation.
- Participate in training sessions on food safety and culinary techniques as required.

**Experience**
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with catering services and restaurant operations is advantageous.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is beneficial.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills in meal preparation and culinary techniques is essential.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
