Behaviour Support Worker

We are currently recruiting multiple Teaching Assistants for a special school that cater for pupils aged 9-16, who have an Education, Health, and Care Plan for Profound/Severe Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs (SEMH). They are looking for Teaching Assistants to work on both one to one support and classroom based roles. This is an excellent opportunity for exceptional individuals to become part of a dedicated and highly skilled team.
**Role responsibilities**:
- Provide support for pupils with special educational needs, assisting with their learning activities, and offering supervision and care.
- Where appropriate, support the integration of pupils into mainstream education.
- Assist with the personal needs of pupils, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid, and welfare matters.
- Assist students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and self-awareness to improve their interactions with peers and staff.
- Provide immediate support during behavioural crises, using de-escalation techniques and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the student and others.
- Qualified or willing to work towards Level 2 Support Work in Schools or equivalent
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently, using their own initiative.
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs or challenging behaviour.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Good communication skills, both for working with children and liaising with colleagues and parents.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.

Pay: £14.43-£15.44 per hour
Expected hours: 34 per week
