An innovative engineering business near Wymondham are looking to bring an experienced Electrical Design Engineer into their Product Development team. You'll undertake a wide range of electrical design work on current and existing projects pertaining to thebusinesses product portfolio - from initial conception, right through to development, implementation and testing.
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll manage electrical design projects, working as part of a team to deliver solutions, playing a key role in planning and delivering projects efficiently, all whilst developing a robust understanding of the products,as well as relevant developments in the industry.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Understand project requirements & design, build and test prototypes of new products during the R&D stage.
- Produce product documentation as well as technical reports.
- Work with other departments involved in projects.
- Liaise with suppliers during design phase & carry out component selection.
- Provide technical expertise during manufacturing, design validation, installation and maintenance processes.
- Practical design knowledge of either Low Voltage systems and Control and/or Distribution Panels.
- An ability to draw electrical schematics, layouts, cable schedule documents and single line diagrams.
- Knowledge of Transformers, Protection Studies, Earthing arrangements, Fault Current Calculations, Harmonics Calculation, Power Factor Considerations and Cabling.
- Competence in Low Voltage design in systems
- Ability to carry out some assembly, testing and validation on prototypes
