PMUK are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join the Procurement team within the Home Appliance Division, who will be responsible for a portfolio of suppliers providing Electro, Mechanical and Packaging materials for the Cardiff manufacturing facility. The key responsibilities are managing Quality, Service and Cost, managing an existing supplier network and sourcing new and innovative suppliers from around the globe. **WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**: - Manage a portfolio of suppliers. - Develop a sourcing strategy by category for all key components and materials. - Identify and deliver cost saving projects, taking a lead role in project implementation. - Monitor and report on key commodity markets, identifying opportunities and risks for the cost base of the business. - Liaise with global procurement partners to provide competitive advantage to the wider Panasonic supply chain. - Develop business continuity plans, with risk mitigation planning and financial health checks of key business partners. - Drive NPD through a robust procurement process. - Guide Engineering and other business partners through sourcing strategy and supplier selection process. - Contract Management. - Agile Inventory management. **WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**: Essential Requirements: - Extensive Purchasing experience within a fast-paced environment. - Experience in the use of the basic Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel). Desirable Requirements: - Degree level education in Business Management or Supply Chain / Procurement. - MCIPS is desirable, but not essential. - Experience of working with Asian Suppliers. - Detailed knowledge of Oracle system. - Ability to think strategically and make decisions independently. - This role requires a strong communicator who can work closely with all levels in the business. - Confident negotiator and able to deal with complex procurement activities. - Experience of managing multiple simultaneous projects - Experience within the Electronics or Manufacturing Industry is desirable. - Awareness of Lean principles **WHAT WE OFFER YOU**: Working Hours: 07:45 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday, 07:45 - 13:30 Friday. - Company pension contributions of up to 10%. - Free parking on site. - Annual leave entitlement of 24 days (+ bank holidays), increasing up to 30 (+ bank holidays) with length of service. - Death in service benefit of 4x annual salary. - Enhanced pay for maternity, paternity, bereavement, adoption, surrogacy, and sickness. - Employee Assistance Programme. - Long Service Awards. - Exclusive 'Staff Sales' site for Panasonic products. - Training and development opportunities. **ABOUT US **:Panasonic is one of the largest and leading electronic product manufacturers in the world.
