We are looking for a dynamic, highly skilled and experienced academic practitioner to join the Performance Programme team. As the Course Leader for MA Performance: Writing, you will play a key role in the leadership, management and teaching of the course, managing resources and people. You will play a key role in the programme, undertaking teaching, assessment, unit management and curriculum development. You will input into programme management and the ongoing development of future strategy. You will work closely with colleagues from the Programme, Academic Support, Student Services and the college community.
The MA Performance: Writing course aims to develop the student's creative abilities to generate and produce innovative work that explores the boundaries of contemporary writing practice. The course develops student capabilities and competencies relating to their awareness of the dramaturgical and presentational skills needed to write for a range of different media, including the stage, film, television, audio and a variety of digital outlets. In terms of intention, the media covered on the course includes Audio (radio, podcasts, and sound scape/sculpture), Digital (web series, games [console and mobile], and Virtual Reality), Screen (Film, TV) and Stage (theatre, found space, site specific, community).
This course is designed to accommodate for student engagement with the activities of the Shared Campus international partnership. This network generates opportunities and practices for intercultural and transnational academic co-operation. The role of Course Leader will include responsibility for contributing to working relationships with colleagues and projects across the Shared Campus network.

Having recently been relaunched following a name change from Dramatic Writing to Performance: Writing, this course is positioned to better support an expanded range of writing practices that cuts across diverse media and platforms and, thereby, best represents the challenges and opportunities faced by creative writers engaged with the full breadth of performance making and exploration.

**Profile**:
We’re looking for someone who has have an in-depth understanding and personal experience of teaching and facilitating creative practices in performance practices relating to writing and writing for performance practices. You will be expected to have experience of managing teams, budgets, content and complex activities in an HE setting. Creative and highly motivated, you’ll be able to take up the challenges of enabling diverse student cohorts to explore their practice from and within their own individual context.
This is a course delivered on campus and online. As such, you will need to demonstrate familiarity with methods and practice that demonstrates effective practices of online teaching and learning delivery as well as in person. In addition, the course offers students the chance and opportunity to work co-operatively and with others from beyond their discipline or area of concern. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate experience of managing and delivering a curriculum that offers both breadth and challenge extending beyond established orthodoxies.
