**More about the role**
We are looking for an experienced individual to join our Industrial Gases Business as an **Instrument Plant Supervisor **(also known as an Instrumentation Technician or Instrumentation Engineer) at our facility in Didcot, Oxfordshire. The individual will work at the Didcot facility as well at various satellite plants located on our customer sites around the Southeast of England.

You will be part of a small team of 10 great individuals, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. You will work with her to ensure the safe, legal, reliable, and efficient operation of the production plant at Didcot and associated satellite plants.
- **LOCATION: Didcot, Oxfordshire**_
- **EDUCATION: Instrumentation apprenticeship or qualifications preferably**_
- **EXPERIENCE: Dealing with the plant's control systems (Siemens, ABB etc), instrumentation (including maintenance and calibration), analysers and quality systems on production sites; health and safety focus and ability to read and create respective documentation**_
- **CONTRACT: permanent**_

**As the Instrument Plant Supervisor, you will**
- Comply with safety policies and practices
- Inspect and carry out pre-planned maintenance on the site’s control and instrumentation systems and associated process equipment
- Deal with fault-finding and repairs to site equipment
- Operate and control process equipment on the production sites; including troubleshooting and working with the remote Operations Service Centre (OSC)
- Start-up and shutdown process plant and equipment to meet customer demands whilst optimizing the site's operational capacity
- Carry out routine checks and testing on process equipment and products.
- Participate in the local on-call rota and respond out hours for emergencies and operational issues.
- Provide labour cover for intensive shutdown or restart activities
- Prepare isolations for maintenance activities and issue Permit-to Work documentation
- Prepare and review site work instructions, procedures, workplace risk assessments
- Supervise and train less experienced team members when required.

**As the Instrument Plant Supervisor, you already have**
- Recognised instrumentation apprenticeship or qualifications
- Oil & Gas, Chemical, Gas processing operational working experience (other relevant industries will also be considered)
- Operational knowledge of industrial plant and process control systems (Siemens, ABB etc.), instrumentation (including maintenance and calibration), analysers and quality systems on production sites
- Ability to read and interpret documents including, operating and manufacturing instructions and procedure manuals
- Substantial knowledge of safety regulations and good operating practices.
- Good interpersonal skills to work with and support a small local team
- Ability to work without supervision and supervise outside service contractors when required
- Able to multitask and prioritise workload
- Experienced in reading schematics, process flow diagrams and P&IDs
- A flexible approach to working as continuously operating plants may require out of hours support on occasions
- Experience and ability to prepare and review RAMS (Risk assessment/ Method statement).
