This role forms part of The Data Management Team (DMT) and is embedded within the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire's System Analytical Intelligence Unit (SAIU).

The core purpose of this post is to assist with the build, development and maintenance of code sets and business rules that supports the information requirements of around 130 General Practices with which over 1.2 million patients are registered as well as our community services, social services and secondary care services.

It is intended that this role will increase the support to the system on the importance of clinical coding/quality assurance and ensure robust sets of codes are in place.
- To provide support to the System Analytical Intelligence Unit (SAIU) Data Management Teams knowledge authors.
- To create sets of codes and business rules that underlie the Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF), Impact and Investment Framework (IIF) and support key performance indicators (KPi’s) that form part of the quality assurance process to meet clinical guidelines.
- It is intended that this role will increase the support to the system on the importance of clinical coding/quality assurance and ensure robust sets of codes are in place.
- To support the team with future sustainability and development of eHealthScope and the GPRCC data warehouse which contains clinical and contracting information for use by clinicians, care workers, managers, analysts and support staff across Nottinghamshire.
- The role will also play a key part in developing codes and business rules to support our electronic Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (eCGA) programme.
- The core purpose of this post is to assist with the build, development and maintenance of codesets and business rules.
- To work with clinicians and developers to refine these rules
- To support the information requirements of around 130 General Practices with which over 1.2 million patients are registered as well as our community services, social services and secondary care services.
- To support the information needs of those people planning, commissioning, monitoring and delivering care in Nottinghamshire.

This position is embedded within the Data Management Team and is part of the System Analytical Intelligence Unit (SAIU).

Our aim is to give the system the data infrastructure, that proactively supports with future sustainability and development of eHealthScope and the GPRCC data warehouse which contains clinical and contracting information for use by clinicians, care workers, managers, analysts and support staff across Nottinghamshire.

Working with system colleagues to develop and put intelligence at the heart of decision making is a pivotal step of our journey.

**Principal Accountabilities**: - Use our editing tools to build and debug code sets and business rules.
- Develop, with educational input, SQL skills to encode the business rules
- Work with clinical groups (e.g. GPs and hospital consultants) and ICB managers to rapidly develop new code sets and business rules.
- Assist with troubleshooting and problem solving of our knowledge-base of rules and see that user-reported issues are systematically resolved.
- Take responsibility for improvement and maintenance of code sets and business rules including rollout of upgrades and bug fixes.
- To review, evaluate and test code sets and business rules.
- Document your work, maintain a log of changes you have made, and comment your code as required.
- Work with the Head of Data Management and others in the team to ensure that data quality is systematically improved and that any changes to national coding methodologies are appropriately taken into account when benchmarking the quality of data from external organisations.
- Ensure the ICB is compliant with the processing and storage requirements of the NHS Minimum Data Sets (Community, CSDS, MHMDS, A&E ECDS etc.), including the identification and investigation of problems with data quality in liaison with the respective teams.
- The post holder will also be responsible for working to local and National policies, procedures, and guidelines.
