As a Transport Project Officer, you’ll play a key role in delivering projects that enhance bus services and promote sustainable travel across the county.
**About the Team & Role**:
You’ll be part of a dynamic team focused on delivering the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), aimed at making bus travel more reliable, accessible, and attractive for all users.
Your work will contribute directly to improving passenger experience, increasing bus patronage, and supporting Gloucestershire’s wider transport and climate goals.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development and delivery of BSIP-funded projects and initiatives.
- Collaborating with bus operators, district councils, and other stakeholders to implement service improvements.
- Monitoring project progress, managing budgets, and reporting on outcomes.
- Engaging with communities and interest groups to understand needs and promote public transport.
- Assisting in the preparation of funding bids, business cases, and performance reports.
**About You**:
You’ll bring a strong understanding of public transport operations and the challenges facing bus services. You’ll be confident working with data, managing projects, and building relationships with internal and external partners.
- Essential qualities include:
- Experience in transport planning, project delivery, or stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of sustainable transport principles and the aims of the National Bus Strategy.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative and customer-focused approach to working with partners and the public.
