Marketing and Communications Administrator

**Job Purpose**
To provide marketing, communications and general administrative support to the Health Economics Health Technology Assessment (HEHTA) Director and wider team. Lead on the organisation of continuing professional development courses for HEHTA and support the marketing and social media strategy. Provide administrative support for research and teaching within HEHTA and liaise with the School of Health and Wellbeing on a range of operational and management activities, particularly related to marketing, digital communications, teaching, finance and operational needs.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide high level of administrative support to the Director and wider team in support of effective planning and management of activities and resources, specifically development and implementation of marketing strategy, policies and procedures relating to good governance and management, in particular GDPR.
- Contribute to marketing, promotion and running of all HEHTA CPD activity, including budgetary considerations. The courses attract high numbers of external professionals worldwide and this post is the main point of contact for all CPD participants.
- Managing all social media platforms for HEHTA including creating original content and working with MVLS design and others in HEHTA to design content for their research.
- Communicate with various professional bodies to support with designing HEHTA marketing strategies.
- Work independently to prepare and publish quarterly newsletters, annual report and all digital communications, including the HEHTA website.
- Manage and administer local estates and facilities management requirements relating to HEHTA accommodation. Responsible for office/space allocation, maintenance and refurbishment of staff offices/areas, health & safety checks, business continuity planning and provision of equipment
- In support of research activity, assist the project manager in monitoring project budgets, identifying and resolving financial anomalies. Preparation of documents, presentations, reports and correspondence using standard formats, gathering data and information from University systems and other appropriate sources.
- Work with the HEHTA project managers and research staff to design content and develop materials for Knowledge Exchange and Public Engagement activities both internal and external. E.g. Explorathon, Pint of Science.
- Administer research group information, records and documents, much of which will be confidential in nature, in line with best practice, ensuring appropriate storage, archiving and destruction as per agreed retention schedules.
- Contribute where appropriate to broader pieces of work across SHW, such as the Athena Swan activities.
- Co-ordinate and provide high-level administrative support for all meetings and events within HEHTA, including taking minutes, collating and distributing papers, following up on actions/agenda items etc.
- Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by suggesting service improvements and implementing new processes to enhance quality of service.
- Provide any other reasonable support as required by the Director of HEHTA.
**Knowledge / Qualifications**
**Essential**:
A1. Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework Level 7 [Advanced Higher / Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 3, Higher National Certificate] or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role
**Desirable**:
B1. Knowledge of the University’s various systems, in particular Agresso, MyCampus, t4, CMIS, OneDrive

C2. Ability to use tact, diplomacy and discretion when dealing with students, staff and external organisations.
C3. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
C4. Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this post, having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role.
C5. Excellent communication and customer service skills, operating with diplomacy and discretion.
C6. The ability to respond to changes in demands and/or pressures, delivering work to standard and within deadlines.
C8. The ability to work both independently and flexibly as part of a high performing team with excellent stakeholder management skills.
C10. Proven experience of clerking formal meetings, including the setting of agendas and the taking of minutes
C11. Knowledge of marketing and communications strategies and experience working with websites and social media platforms.
**Experience**
**Essential**:
E1. Experience of administration in Higher Education establishment, including comprehensive knowledge of administrative and organisational systems.
E2. Experience in working with people from different countries and cultures.
**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 5, £25,138 - £29,605 per annum.
