Step4ward Services offer 24/7 staffed placements to young people aged 16-25, that are considered in need of some support towards independent living. The service is based on the idea, that young people will be able to work with the staff and other people who use the service to reach their goals. We make a particular point of encouraging and enabling young people to access and join in with the community.

The 16+ team is a dedicated group of individuals who will work alongside young people to offer support and guidance in all the key areas needed to help prepare for adult life. These people have been carefully chosen because they are specially trained and interested in helping young people make the steps from being ‘looked after’ to leaving care and achieving independence.

As a 16+ support worker we need qualities such as:

A 16+ support worker will need abilities such as:

- Organise, plan and take responsibility
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both with colleagues and young people, verbally and in writing
- Motivate, aid and guide young people in their self-development
- Be a positive role model
- Listen and respond responsibly with sensitivity
- Ability to understand and implement National Minimum Standards
- Computer literacy
- Lone work and complete daily tasks as required.

These positions are advertised for evenings and ‘sleep in duties’, that will finish the next morning.

The working patterns are as follows:
**Friday -** 17:30 - 00:00, sleep between 00:00-09:00 and re-commence **Saturday **at 09:00 - 00:00, sleep between 00:00-09:00 and re-commence **Sunday** at 09:00 - finishing at 18:00
- There is flexibility with the start time and can be discussed on interview._

**Due to location - Drivers would be advantageous**

**Pay - £10 per hour**
